Most current designs are based on modern minimalist furniture styles. the problem with this is that most furniture is mass produced out of questionable materials. they tend to fail easily and variety is somewhat restricted. Some items can be devalued if not restored correctly. Other items are just not worth restoring but may be  and ideal subject for up-cycling. It is important to be able to distinguish between the two and advice the client accordingly. Proper restoration requires the correct techniques. Failure to adhere to this can devalue a piece and cause financial loss. We will research this and if required get expert advice

Items generally considered as unwanted, should not always be discarded. With a little clean-up and paint it may well fit back in your design plan.

Blacksmithing, although an age old dying trade, the authenticity and quality of a hand forged piece can never be underestimated. Forged items do not need be outdated. The trade is evolving to accommodate modern styles.
